Hiya, just wanted to tell as many people as possible that i've been accepted on the Film and Video BA at the London College of Printing.

had the second day of filming today, had to bribe a small child with sweets and a colouring book,
never work with kids --- use dwarfs.

Man, everyone at film school shoots with kids. The last one I was on, was a sweatshop thing for a music vid.

i sorta wish i had applied to film school, i would really like to do it on a daily basis and learn it properly, not to mention be surrounded by other people into it. I tell ya thats the most off putting thing for me at the moment is the fact i dont know anyone else into film making. Too late now thought cos im doing linguistics at York. I think i wanna do a masters in something film related once ive finished my degree.

Just out of interest...
What film schools are most respected in england? Seems like a sensible question to ask if im thinking about applying to one in the future.

film school made me want to have nothing to do with movies or the film business.

I really think film school is over-rated.

If you are into the whole "who's cooler than who" thing, go to film school.

I live in America, so it could be different in England, but I sncerely doubt it.

I studies film at uni, but it was all theory. So i went to the NYFA intensive course.
I would really love to go to film school, but at 24 i think its more important to be out there making my own films.
Ok, if i'm honest, its because i cant afford to go to film school with my ?9000 debt from uni weighing me down.

I would advise all and sundry to go to film school- if nothing else it will either make you love film or want to knock it on the head completly. But, and repeat this mantra every day -PICK YOUR CREW VERY, VERY, VERY WELL. I remember shooting a quality short in 16mm, spending 4 hours lighting a single shot-type vibe, and my Director of photography managed to get every single shot out of focus- i was mortified, especially as it cost me ?90 to process the film!

Anyone done any courses at "Panico" in London? I'm thinking of going to a few courses there but i dont want to waste my hard earned cash on a place with poor teaching and *****d with incompitent students who take up the lectures time and F**k up your films.

noone has mentioned THE NATIONAL FILM AND TELEVISION SCHOOL yet... i would of thought that would of been a good one, im sure i read on thier site that Nick Park the wallace and grommit dude teaches on the animation course so its gotta be good! [img]tongue.gif[/img]

London College of Printing and Westminster are meant to be good, well i'm hoping the former is anyway.

LCP does a one year foundation course in film and video (well just video) which kicks *** , it's what i'm doing at the mo. and its the only one of its kind in the Uk, (apparently)
